| I just love Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. It was only a few years ago that I began to really begin to listen to rap music. For the most part, I still find many of the songs degrading and nonsensical, but there are a few artists who I believe are truly poets. Tupac, Nas, Jay-Z and more recently TI, come to mind. Snoop has always been a smooth old school artist and I love his cool swag. He is timeless. Jay-Z’s rise from Marcy to the Board Room is quite impressive and I love the fact that he married beautiful Beyonce Knowles. Together, they are a power couple reminding me so much of Jada and Will Smith. Alicia Keys epitomizes artistry. Not only is she multi-talented – she has a genuine love of humanity. She is classy and smart and works hard to perfect her craft and it shows in her music. I almost had the pleasure of seeing Jay Z perform with Mary J. Blige at Nassau Coliseum (but due to an injury – could not attend). I had purchased 5th row center seats – and had to give up my ticket. It was okay – my daughter was able to enjoy the show from closeup and brought me back some amazing photos (she’s the family “photographer”). My dream is to be able to get this fortunate again and see Jay-Z perform sometime in the near future.
